Their Mission:"Catchafire’s mission is to improve the quality of the volunteer experience by providing pro bono opportunities for skilled professionals.”

What we love about Catchafire: You’re a busy working professional who could be doing a number of things, including any or all of the following: hitting up professional networking events, broadening your connections and credibility on LinkedIn, and working to boost your skills and credentials in an effort to climb the career ladder. You’re great at what you do and love doing it, but haven’t found how to use your professional skills to fulfill your desire to help people. You’re yearning to put yourself to use in a way that can really benefit a great cause, but haven’t heard of Catchafire and how it allows you to volunteer your skills, pro bono, to those in need. That’s about to change.

Catchafire allows you to lend your skills to nonprofits and social enterprises, filling a resource void and taking their mission to a new level. Basically it’s a matchmaking site that works with organizations to structure their projects in a way that makes it easy for you to volunteer while balancing a busy life. You can easily take part by signing up and browsing their list of open projects for something that complements your skill set. Even if you can’t find anything that hits the mark, check back regularly as they are always adding new projects.

We urge you to share this with co-workers and other associates, because according to the Founder and CEO Rachael Chong, about 95% of nonprofits out there wish they could get quality pro bono work from professionals like you.
